Serenity Gongs & Gifts is a family owned business located in the Launceston CBD. We opened in 2009 originally in Charles Street but have since moved to a bigger location in Kingsway. If you pop in you will most likely be greeted by me, Megan, as I run the day to day jobs at Serenity. I love doing this, going to work is no longer work, it’s a part of my life I thoroughly enjoy.

I like to keep the store light hearted and a place people can come to escape the hectic lifestyle of the CBD and browse at their own leisure. I love to chat to new people and the best part of being in retail is all the interesting folks you can meet every day.

All our products are consciously sourced from around the world and some have obtained Fair Trade certification. Many of our products come from developing or third world countries such as Nepal, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Guatemala. We also have ranges from India, Australia and China which are all obtained from manufactures/individuals who embrace good working conditions and fair treatment of staff.

All of our product ranges are chosen by us, the owners for their symbolism, meaning, story or sometime just for their ability to make us smile.

As well as stocking a fantastic range of goods we also provide a few different services we believe can benefit people in their everyday lives.

Meditation Group is held every Thursday night at 6pm, facilitated by Rachel

Amanda Clark is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Massage who visits us regulary from Melbourne to provide treatments to those who need it.

Intuitive Tarot Readings are available on the first Thursday of every month with Barbara Gilbery.

Megan offers Crystal Light Healing (TM) by appointment.

We also hold a range of workshops and host visitors of different modalities which in the past have included Art & Intuition Workshops, Inner Peace Readings, Spirit Guide Drawing and Kinesiology.

I love bright colours and things that make people happy, so when Jan (mum and business partner) suggested that she might be interested in opening a store in Launceston (further to her business in Latrobe) I jumped at the chance to be a part of it. The products we stock not only help people in smaller villages/areas but they put a smile on faces of people buying them.

Both Jan and I believed there was a market in Launceston for a store of our type and of our range and we made an effort (and continue) to source products different from those being showcased elsewhere.

I spend every day surrounded by unique and exciting things which attract interesting and unique people, and I love every minute of it. I hope everyone loves my store as much as I do.
